The RI Chapter of the Scout Guild held a combined campfire with the present boys of 01 and 02 on 6 August 2016. The event was held in the school hall due to inclement weather but it did not dampen the spirit of the 250 attendees. Guest-of-Honour was our Scout Guild Adviser, Dr Tan Cheng Bock who was an outstanding troop leader of 2nd Raffles in the 1950s.
Here Dr Tan is being garlanded by Roney Tan with the original green and white triangle Raffles scarf which was specially recreated for the occasion.
It was a splendid occasion for old boys as well as present boys to meet up with Dr Tan.
The evening’s programme had a good balance of traditional campfire songs, dance and yells , as well as modern IT games such as the Kahoo.it quiz.
The Kahoo.it game introduced by the scouts of 01 and 02.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Outstanding Scoutmaster Award to former Scoutmaster of 32nd Raffles, Mr Stephen Puhaindran and former Scoutmaster of 2nd Raffles, Mr Foo Dong Wan.
