1960-1969 Recruited by foreign bank and sent to London for training as bank officer. Worked in bank and promoted to Branch Manager.
1970 Joined Stockbroking
1972-2003 Appointed Executive Director of Broking Firm. Chief Dealer for company, as well as in charge of team of dealers. Also in charge of Human Resources.
Experience over thirty three (33) years in stockbroking industry include:
1) Several Bull & Bear Markets
2) The “Federal Paper” Episode – how a market was “cornered”.
3) “Pan Electric” Crisis, leading to closure of several broking firms
4) Evolution of Bank Broking Houses
5) “Outcry” trading on the Stock Exchange floor to “Electronic” Trading in the Stockbroking office
6) Physical Share Certificates with transfer deeds to Central Depository System.
7) Tremendous improvements in trading and monitoring system by the Singapore Stock Exchange.
2003 Retired from Stockbroking, but still actively trading as an independent trader.
